Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

John's excellent eye-witness reporting of the preaching of Jesus gives us yet another Name for Him. In the First Chapter, we discovered the Names of "Logos", "The Word Made Flesh", "The Light", The Lamb of God" and "The Messiah". Then, in the incident at Jacobs Well, Jesus refers to Himself as a Fountain of "Living Water".

Now, John reports Jesus referring to Himself as The Bread of Life". This hard teaching, which involves EATING is too difficult for many, and a lot of the followers drift away. However, the Original Twelve hang in there, even though they are sincerely puzzled as to why Jesus would teach such an alienating message to His Fellow Jews. Everybody KNOWS the Torah forbids the eating of Blood!

John captures the confusion and diverse opinions of the crowd perfectly. Once again, he uses conversations and descriptions to depict the scene.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
