This is because you are that son and you must decide for yourself if you will enter the Father’s house on His terms.

“‘My son,’ the father said, ‘you are always with me, and everything I have is yours.’” (Luke 15:31 ESV)

The Father's "terms" are asotia, like the younger son's "wasteful living" (zoon asotos) in v. 13; He gives you all His time, and He gives you all His wealth. But you have to be willing to let Him give just as much to anyone else He calls, even if He chooses to take some of it from you temporarily--just as there would be another fatted calf, everything the Father takes for someone else that could have been yours will be repaid you, either here where it is destined to corruption, or in heaven where it is destined never to perish.
