The challenge is not to get the reform Jews to vote for Trump, it is to acquaint them with their religious heritage and get them to live lives of Torah and mitzvos. Then voting for someone like Trump would come naturally because they would see the moral bankruptcy of liberalism.
Thank you that is very very accurate, astute.
I was caught up in the rush of current events, there being so very very little time before people start voting ...
but in the larger (and probably longer) picture, your point is far superior, thanks!
(you will excuse me for citing this, but I can’t help recalling what one good Jew taught a few years after the “Jewish canon” was completed (which is a way of saying that I personally think this makes a valid point:)...”Do not give dogs what is holy; do not throw your pearls before swine. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces.” Matthew 7:6 in the Christian Bible. Of course, that is a vivid statement of Hebrew Scriptures (such as Psalms 9:8, 23:9, and 26:4), so everyone can agree it makes a point.
Scoffers like “liberal” Jews or “cafeteria pro=abortionist Catholics” or “post-Christian Protestants” like maybe PCUSA, etc...... such people are not likely to respond to any repovals or calls or invitations to return to their faith traditions or Biblical teachings. At least, not before voting starts....?
But anyway, all excuse and diversions aside, YOU ARE CORRECT and I thank you for your note!
With this in mind,
