Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Sometimes I struggle with the insatiable need to "fix" things. In fact I am struggling with that very situation right now in my life with someone.

I have even seen that happen in exchanges between people right here on this website. And sometimes I have been a party to it!

Today, as I was preparing Our Thread, THIS jumped out at me:

7 Whoever corrects a mocker invites insults;

 whoever rebukes the wicked incurs abuse.

8 Do not rebuke mockers or they will hate you;

 rebuke the wise and they will love you.

9 Instruct the wise and they will be wiser still;

 teach the righteous and they will add to their learning.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,

 and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

11 For through wisdom your days will be many,

 and years will be added to your life.

12 If you are wise, your wisdom will reward you;

 if you are a mocker, you alone will suffer.

God calls us to be peacemakers, but only as far as it is in our power to do so. We can forgive in our hearts, but sometimes our own overt actions to "correct the situation" will backfire. Then it is up to God to touch the hearts of those who have wronged us, and thus bring about reconciliation.

Much has been written about the "Seven Pillars of Wisdom". Lawrence of Arabia even named his memoirs after them. Some of today's illustrations will contain various interpretations of what those Pillars contain.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.

Hallelujah and Amen
