Accommodation (Catholic caucus)

Recently, I was blessed to have both the time and the opportunity to visit St. John Paul II’s shrine in Washington D.C. It was one of those pilgrimages that, in spite of my living only a four hour drive away, I had yet to complete. However, in this Year of Divine Mercy, my wife and I were determined to go, and the fact that the shrine was also hosting an exhibit of relics and items from St. Thomas More’s life provided the final impetus. We were not disappointed.

We had before us the examples of two men who confronted the evil of the world in which they lived in very different ways. St. John Paul II, as priest, bishop, and pope stood unbowed and unapologetic before the threats of both communism and secularism exhorting the world, “Be not afraid!” While St. Thomas More stood at the side of one of Europe’s great medieval monarchs, as Chancellor of England, a man of deep religious conviction enmeshed in, and ultimately martyred by, the machinery of great political power.

This speaks to something I just read this morning, the Book of Haggai Chapter 1...

God allowed the destruction of his Temple and the scattering of his people the Israelites because they had fallen for false idols. Then after their cleansing time God commanded Haggai to rebuild his house. Reread the chapters 1:1-11 of Haggai and substitute Church for Temple and Pray what has been Promised to us from Our Lord Jesus, that the Church shall prevail against the Gates of Hell, will be fulfilled soon. Do the words not tell us we have to do some things (Actions), Do they not say our Focus should be on the Lord and not the things of this world? Does they not say when we change our focus we will be satisfied.

“In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerub'babel the son of She-al'ti-el, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehoz'adak, the high priest, "Thus says the LORD of hosts: This people say the time has not yet come to rebuild the house of the LORD." Then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, "Is it a time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, while this house lies in ruins? Now therefore thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider how you have fared. You have sown much, and harvested little; you eat, but you never have enough; you drink, but you never have your fill; you clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; and he who earns wages earns wages to put them into a bag with holes. "Thus says the LORD of hosts: Consider how you have fared. Go up to the hills and bring wood and build the house, that I may take pleasure in it and that I may appear in my glory, says the LORD. You have looked for much, and, lo, it came to little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why? says the LORD of hosts. Because of my house that lies in ruins, while you busy yourselves each with his own house. Therefore the heavens above you have withheld the dew, and the earth has withheld its produce. And I have called for a drought upon the land and the hills, upon the grain, the new wine, the oil, upon what the ground brings forth, upon men and cattle, and upon all their labors."”

Know this: Return to God, a Moral people and Christendom! Anything Else if for Not! When you see the reunification of Christians into the One True Faith the Holy and Apostolic Catholic Church the End to the Darkness will be Assured... Until then PRAY for All the Lost Souls!

God Bless

The irony here is stark. JPII kissed the Koran and prayed that St John the Baptist would protect Islam.

Nope, he didn't accommodate the evil of this world, no siree. /s

Mosque of Damascus (Umayyad Mosque) - Damascus, Syria
The head of St. John the Baptist is there.
There are ALWAYS a dozen imams who sit around a tall (about sixteen feet at least) and beautifully decorated monument containing the bones of St. John's HEAD.
Those imams are there 24/7 praying. Islam always considered him a holy man, as they did Jesus.

The Arab name for Jesus is Issa. There is a California congressman, born in Cleveland, whose name is Darrell Issa...Darrell Jesus.

Of course, many Hispanics use the name Jesús for their sons.

So?

Islam is a false religion. A Catholic pope should not be kissing its “holy” book nor asking a Catholic saint to protect it.

==========================================

If Islam is false, why does God permit it to exist?
Is Hinduism equally false? Why does God also permit it to exist?
Most Japanese and many Indians worship Buddha. Buddha was a MAN, an Indian, Sidhartha Gautama. If that faith is also false, why does God permit it to exist?

The Iranians USED to worship God as Zoroastra. They all eventually became Muslim. Why did God permit Zoroastrianism to exist?

Why does God allow the Jewish faith to still survive and THRIVE, even when the Pharisees and Sadducees had Him crucified?

Who are YOU to judge how people worship God? Who made YOU the judge and jury? There are thirty-seven Bible references about NOT judging others. I guess you FORGOT about those.

So you believe that if God "permits" something it can't be evil. You can't be serious.

By the way, are these popes "judgmental" too?:

Pope Eugene IV, Council of Basel, 1434: “… there is hope that very many from the abominable sect of Mahomet will be converted to the Catholic faith.”

Pope Callixtus III: “I vow to… exalt the true Faith, and to extirpate the diabolical sect of the reprobate and faithless Mahomet [Islam] in the East.”

PS. I always find it ironic when people call others “judgmental”.

Lol. You, dear soul, have not a clue. If I haven't been clear enough then you are deliberately misunderstanding me.
We have free will and can CHOOSE God...or not. Is THAT clear enough for you, pea-brain good sir?
God bless you and PAX TIBI.

However, you did choose a good call sign. Someone to live up to.

Idiotic argument.

Why does God allow Satan and his demons to exist? Or do consider them not be evil?

Do you even know the history of the phrase, “Deus vult”?

It concerns your Godless islamist buddies.

I see you didn’t truly answer my questions.

You kept questioning why God allows these false religions to exist if they are false. You said nothing about others having the free will to choose false religions. In fact, not once did you make it clear that you agreed with me that they were false and that they have the free will to choose them. I agree with the latter. You did make it clear that I was being “judgmental” to the point of sharing a link to Bible quotes regarding judging others despite the fact that other popes and saints have said the same things I have said.

The fact that others have the free will to choose them doesn’t change the fact that they are false and evil. It doesn’t change the fact that popes and saints have said the same. It doesn’t change the fact that JPII legitimized Islam by kissing the false religion’s “holy” book and asking a Catholic Saint to protect it (not to mention how he legitimized others with the anti-Catholic Assisi event).

How about you stop laughing at me and telling me I don’t have a clue. It sounds awfully judgmental and I know you rather dislike that.
