DAILY DEVOTIONAL: Move Past The Comma
January 12, 2017
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Psalm 73:26
I sure dont like to fail, but here I am. When John McCain and I lost to Barack Obama and Joe Biden in 2008, it was one of the most public failures you can imagine.
As much as we fought to win that election, it was impossible to know how the nation would change and morph under the leadership of the guy who beat us. Looking back, it sometimes felt less like losing an election and more like losing a country.
Many of you might be discouraged. Often, Im there with you: my flesh and my heart fail! But the Bible doesnt give us the option of wallowing too long. You get one commas worth of despair before Scripture reminds us: But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever!
Sweet Freedom in Action
Today, its time to move from the first portion of that sentence uttered by the psalmist to the next. If you are discouraged about the state of our nation, remember God is our strength! Individually and collectively, Chin up. Literally. Look to God.
I got to know a great Christian guy from Wasilla who is a friend of the Palin’s - and he strongly assured me that she “is the real deal” in every way.
A good thought here from her, for sure........
Poor Sarah. She still doesn’t realize McStain fought for Obama and Biden to win. Sarah was fighting alone.
I will always believe she was actually the one that the establishment wanted to destroy. McStain was the designated loser and they threw her in to end her potential national stage run of any kind. The elites figured she could be a real thorn in their collective side so they took her out.
She deserves respect, but she also needs to face the facts about McStain.
Sarah is a real fighter.
Posted this on the FR Religion Forum to inform readers that she has a new website and intends to present a daily devotional on it.
Would have posted under News/Activism otherwise.
Sorry, I wasn’t trying to derail your thread I only commented on what came to mind after reading it.
a great thought to start the day......
Beside the “comma” there is the antidote. The “dash.” You know. The one that appears on headstones at cemeteries between the dates a person’s life began and ended. The real question to me is what you do with the “dash.’
