The worst part was that when they knew the drug thing was going on, they did not report it to law enforcement but decided to “investigate” it themselves.
The police later became involved.

Thanks for filling in the missing link. Although it sounds like local law enforcement was pretty ‘tame’.
In the Dallas, they call the area where folks are above the law ‘The Bubble’, and the two enclave communities have their own police departments to make sure the kids get home safe and the parents don’t have to pick them up at the Dallas jail in the middle of the night. Sounds like Briarwood wants to go a step up from that.

When minors are involved with a drug bust, let me help you with a clue..... IT DOESN'T GO TO THE PRESS WITH NAMES OR DETAILS .
There are... uh.... "laws" which dictate what can be released and what can't.
As far as a Christian school having drugs, well... yeah. Christian kids do dope, have sex, look at porn and get involved in all types of activity that allow folks to snicker at.... if they are stupid and think being a Christian is all about morality and purity. It is not. Never has been.
It is about finding grace and forgiveness, and that on an ongoing basis. Christian kids and adults sometimes mess up in a technicolor manner.
The article about it being "shrouded in secrecy" is just silly. All minors involved in criminal activity have their records "shrouded in secrecy" to a large degree.
Just for the record, I am an evangelical bible thumper kind of Christian with a pretty extensive history with Briarwood. I am not like most of the parishioners there, in that I am for the total legalization of drugs while I also believe they are sinful, demonic, and dangerous for a person who believes in Christ.
All that out of the way, I am still confused why they are doing this, but there are lots of things I don't understand in life, I guess.
