And as for our Protestant friends, let us recall that Christian can only be understood as Catholic. As St. Thomas says, we only call the "separated brethren" or the heretics and schismatics "Christian" out of politeness.

You bet...We'll see who the real Christians are when your religion is in full unity with Izlam...And it's not far off...

“A Christian is a follower of Jesus Christ. Not a member of a church.”

It’s amusing to see you prots aren’t really the sola scripturalists y’all claim to be.

I see context is still lost on the Roman Catholic.

I see you reject sola scriptura. Good in one way, but very bad the way you have taken it.

I see you reject sola scriptura.

I reject your understanding of sola scriptura. But then again, I reject pretty much anything you say.

Could it be simply because the Catholic Church (and all of ancient historical chrstianity) rejects a literal Messianic King in favor of a "spiritual messiah" with a "spiritual kingdom," with this world given over to its "gxd" the devil?

The "spiritual kingdom" business is one of the strangest ideas to ever come down the pike. Most heartland American Biblical Fundamentalists have never even heard of it.

A lot of Prophecy pundits think Frankie could be the False Prophet of Revelation.

The more he talks, the more I agree.

Here's your answer: the Holy Ghost guides them, but they don't necessarily follow Him;

That's desperation if I ever saw it.

So who did the Holy spirit tell them to elect?

I thought the Catholic church was supposed to be protected by God?

And He lets them go their way and elect whomever to lead His supposed one holy apostolic church?

There's no indication whatsoever that the Holy spirit has had anything to do with the leadership of your church for the last two millennia.

It's history bears that out.

The behavior and morals of most of the clergy are a mockery of Christ and the Bible that they claim they wrote.

Titus 1:5-9 This is why I left you in Crete, so that you might put what remained into order, and appoint elders in every town as I directed you— if anyone is above reproach, the husband of one wife, and his children are believers and not open to the charge of debauchery or insubordination. For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain, but hospitable, a lover of good, self-controlled, upright, holy, and disciplined. He must hold firm to the trustworthy word as taught, so that he may be able to give instruction in sound doctrine and also to rebuke those who contradict it.

1 Timothy 3:1-13 The saying is trustworthy: If anyone aspires to the office of overseer, he desires a noble task. Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God's church? He must not be a recent convert, or he may become puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil. Moreover, he must be well thought of by outsiders, so that he may not fall into disgrace, into a snare of the devil.

Deacons likewise must be dignified, not double-tongued, not addicted to much wine, not greedy for dishonest gain. They must hold the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. And let them also be tested first; then let them serve as deacons if they prove themselves blameless. Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things. Let deacons each be the husband of one wife, managing their children and their own households well. For those who serve well as deacons gain a good standing for themselves and also great confidence in the faith that is in Christ Jesus.

On the contrary, forbidding of marriage is a sign of a cult, of wolves in sheep's clothing.

Sexual Immorality Defiles the Church

1 Corinthians 5:1-13 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that is not tolerated even among pagans, for a man has his father's wife. And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

For though absent in body, I am present in spirit; and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment on the one who did such a thing. When you are assembled in the name of the Lord Jesus and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, so that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord.

Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump? Cleanse out the old leaven that you may be a new lump, as you really are unleavened. For Christ, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed. Let us therefore celebrate the festival, not with the old leaven, the leaven of malice and evil, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

I wrote to you in my letter not to associate with sexually immoral people—not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world, or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world. But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Is it not those inside the church whom you are to judge? God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

The Catholic church doesn't even follow the instructions for church leadership that are found in the Bible they claim to have given us.

WHY on earth should anyone feel any obligation to listen to them?

Hate evil and love good, but most of all love another.

Thanks for posting.

A little more:

"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments hang all the Law and the prophets."

:-)

I think that’s because they don’t know what it is.

I can’t think of a single instance when I’ve seen a Catholic quote a verse in context, something that is NOT cherry picked and applied to a situation for which it is inappropriate.

It’s amusing to see you prots aren’t really the sola scripturalists y’all claim to be.

"A mamzer, that is to say, one born of a prostitute, shall not enter into the church of the Lord, until the tenth generation." [Deuteronomy 23:2]

You're just making yourself look foolish...I don't know where you got that perversion of scripture but there are no churches in the Old Testament...

So no one who has a mother who was a prostitute can join the Catholic religion for 10 generations after the mother...They just go to hell...

Would seem you would be embarrassed to post such nonsense but I'll bet you aren't...

In your life as both a Catholic and later as an apostate, how many popes were elected unamiously in the first round?

I see context is still lost on the Roman Catholic.

I see you can't even read the bible in context. I've given you 101 examples already in post #43.

“I don't know where you got that perversion of scripture...”

You must have a different bible than mine; I'm not surprised. I don't pervert scripture, unlike Luther has done.

It completely supports salvation through faith and faith alone. It also supports eternal salvation.

You sir, are dangerously close to being presumptuous. 😆😄😄 Ain't it great? It's the one sin I love to commit. 😀😃 It's nice to be able to miss Hell fire. 🔥

Nothing’s out of context. You have have links to each and everyone of those biblical quotes in post #43.

But then again, you prots have your own, different bibles. I can’t help that.
