Christian clergy helped a Muslim mosque open in a Pentecostal church.
"It's open faith; we're brothers," Ali Mohammad, an organizer of the mosque, tells North Carolina's News & Observer.
The Muslims are stripping the church of its Christian roots, including removing any crosses and handing them over to pastors in the area.
When they opened on Saturday, Christian clergy, including Pastor Jim Melnyk of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, participated in the ceremony. Other pastors from Methodist and Baptist congregations were also present.
"I see it as an important statement of community, that we take each other's faiths seriously," Melnyk says. "I want to acknowledge how important it is to build bridges in the community when we're living in a time that is so anxiety ridden and there's so much mistrust going on in the world around us. It's important when we can find common ground and share our community."

Yep. Can”t walk that one back.
ELCA? Quit being ‘Lutheran a loooong time ago.
“I see it as an important statement of community, that we take each other’s faiths seriously,” Melnyk says.
So when will the local mosque be offering Christian services?
In his sermon, did the Imam condemn murder in England or elsewhere if it was before the attack? Or did he just hold hands, sing sweet songs and wink while these useful idiots were present?
I take the mohammedans' ideology seriously ... as an existential threat to Western Civilization.
Muslims fill the vacuum left by Christians who abandon their faith. You can see that happening all over the world.
Nominal Christians formally accept the status of Dhimmi in the onrushing Islamic Society.
The chain and mega churches you describe are not churches if “church” is defined as a building where Christians gather to worship God. In those places people with some historic attachment to Christianity gather to hear that they are wonderful people and to hear their depravity praised as Love.
In other words they opened a mosque in a building that used to belong to a Pentecostal church. Not a building that is currently used for a Pentecostal church. If I understand correctly...
I am not one to put stock in “prophesy” as foretelling discrete events because every age finds the words of the bible to refer to their own time. That said. the Apostasy is real, yet again. There have been periods in the past wherein Apostasy was widespread and spreading rapidly. I have read several large volumes of history of Christianity, of Nestorians and of Western Christians, Catholic history and Christian history written by Protest and scholars and all attest that Apostasy is a recurring phenomenon. The modern day is significant in that the scope is much larger and the apostasy is spreading rapidly in what appears to us to be the last major bastion of Christianity. But for God the relative prominence of a society among men and nations is not relevant. America may well go down. I believe it has already lost its foundation and is supported on nothing but reputation in the world. The Remnant is there, though, in Africa and in China. China bids fair to be the rising Bastion of Christianity and in subSaharan Africa Christianity is advancing in the struggle with Islam.
Other pastors from Methodist and Baptist congregations were also present.
And we all know what salt in wounds can feel like.
That is my understanding also. The Pentecostal church has
been gone for sometime.
“Pastor Jim Melnyk of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church” ... well, right there is the source of the problem, the Episcopal Church is no longer a Christian organization, so foolishness like this rises quickly as satan takes full control. Chrislam anyone?
UTTERLY HERETICAL! Tagline
I bet the Muslims were so appreciative that they made a mental note that they would behead the fools in private, rather than in public.
I wouldn’t expect muslims to display that level of courtesy.
It’s open faith until he beheads you. Then it’s closed casket.
