Vatican-reviewed magazine accuses Catholics of ‘hate’ for supporting Trump

ROME, July 13, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) -- Conservative Catholics in the United States have formed an "ecumenism of hate" with Evangelical Protestants in their united support for President Trump and his policies, claimed an Italian Jesuit magazine that is reviewed by the Vatican prior to publication.

The article published July 13 in La Civiltà Cattolica claims that some U.S. Catholic conservatives have built ties with fundamentalist Evangelicals for political purposes that evince "enormous differences" with Pope Francis.

“Appealing to the values of fundamentalism, a strange form of surprising ecumenism is developing between Evangelical fundamentalists and Catholic Integralists brought together by the same desire for religious influence in the political sphere,” the article states.

“Some who profess themselves to be Catholic express themselves in ways that until recently were unknown in their tradition and using tones much closer to Evangelicals. They are defined as value voters as far as attracting electoral mass support is concerned.”

“There is a well-defined world of ecumenical convergence between sectors that are paradoxically competitors when it comes to confessional belonging. This meeting over shared objectives happens around such themes as abortion, same-sex marriage, religious education in schools and other matters generally considered moral or tied to values. Both Evangelical and Catholic Integralists condemn traditional ecumenism and yet promote an ecumenism of conflict that unites them in the nostalgic dream of a theocratic type of state,” it adds.

The authors of the report are two of Pope Francis’ close confidantes, editor-in-chief Jesuit Fr. Antonio Spadaro and Marcelo Figueroa, an Argentine Presbyterian pastor who leads his country's edition of the Vatican newspaper, L'Osservatore Romano.

I'm thinking the PTB in Frank's circle do not like Trump nor those who voted for him.

Jesuit plus Artentine = Liberation Theology = Socialism.

Real Catholics are for liberty, freedom, law and order and life.

Sorry, but the race card, hate card, Islamophobia cards and "xenophobic and Islamophobic vision that wants walls and purifying deportations" were dead giveaways. I yearn for the Catholic Church of the 50s and 60s.

The Catholic Church is hurting for money. Maybe anti-Trump talk like this will flush out George Soros who will kick in some much needed money. OMG! Soros is funding the Catholic Church:

The article, written by hand-picked butt boys of Bergoglio, says that a society in which abortion is illegal is a “theocratic society.”

This is Nancy Pelosi’s or Cecile Richards’s view.

As I have said before, we have our first pro-abortion pope.

“Conservative Catholics in the United States have formed an “ecumenism of hate”...claimed...La Civiltà Cattolica...”

By George, they’re right. I do hate them.

Really a lot.

Nice. Behind its ecumenical overtures, the church is coming out the closet in its bigotry and hatred of protestant. This also is typical of South American and French catholicism

We’ve been saying this for some time now.

The Catholics who are opposed to Pope Francis are the modern day reformers, just like Luther was. And the Catholic church is treating them just the same way.

Watch for them to be ex-communicated soon for trying to get Catholicism back to its roots and before you know it, the’ll be starting their own *real* brand of Catholicism, the pre-Vatican 2 type, and will call themselves the OTC, with the current Roman rite being in schism.

It would do Catholics well to try to stand back and take an objective look at what’s going on in their church. But I just don’t see that happening for more than a handful of Catholics.

Before now, the “Vatican” has never attempted to influence votes.

The obvious implication of the Church’s teaching that legal abortion is mass murder is that voting for Democrats is a mortal sin.

But that logical necessity has not influenced most Catholics, anyway.

Bergoglio is the Luther figure.

Here’s his plan: Drive real Catholics out of the “church” by outraging them. The goal is for the godless, faithless “church” of Bergoglio to be in possession of the money and the buildings, without those pesky Catholics and their so-called “truths.” The goal is POWER, POWER, POWER. This is all Bergoglio has cared about his ENTIRE LIFE.

Bergoglio’s “church” has ALREADY EMERGED. It is totalitarian, socialist, globalist, pro-sodomy, and pro-abortion. It is a tool of George Soros and every other major evil force in the world.

Not quite. Contrary to Protestant mythology, Luther was not just opposing the Pope but the entire Catholic Church and the teachings that she held for centuries. Orthodox Catholics today are upholding those teachings. It is a question of upholding the Sacred Tradition of the Church. Luther and Pope Francis oppose it while the Church of the Council of Trent and today's orthodox Catholics are supporting it.

No, they're the modern day spiritual sons of St. Athanasius.

Determined to preserve the faith while all around them embrace heresy.
