I looked but couldn’t find anything about his father being a communist. I did see one liberal Catholic site that had nothing but praise for Francis.
I did notice that many see Francis as sympathetic to socialism and communism.
That’s unfortunately true. He practices -— in his personal friendships as well as his diplomacy-— practical alliances with socialists and communists.
Papal diplomacy isn’t, of course, part of the teaching authority of the church, and has zero claim to indefectibility.
Pope Francis is doing enormous long-range damage. His program seems to be “Repeal and Replace...Catholicism”.
The best thing we can do, really, is: be Catholic.
