President Trump quoted Psalm 34:17-18 in his message of faith to the nation
on learning of the Las Vegas shooting. Its full text speaks to the souls
of those who lost their lives that night. The President used the NIV; below is the KJV, with the lines he quoted in bold:

Psalm 34

I will bless the Lord at all times:
his praise shall continually be in my mouth.

My soul shall make her boast in the Lord:
the humble shall hear thereof, and be glad.

O magnify the Lord with me, and
let us exalt his name together.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears.

They looked unto him, and were lightened:
and their faces were not ashamed.

This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him,
and saved him out of all his troubles.

Exalted ruler of the universe and lover of every soul,
Hear the prayer we humbly lay before Your throne of Grace.

Our hearts are heavy with sadness at the tragedies that have beset our nation—hurricanes, fires, riots, civil disloyalty, acts of mass terror and, accompanying it all, media malpractice.

The sorrow of the victims is heavy on our hearts. We pray that for everyone who desired salvation and called out to You, their loved ones will know Your comfort, repent and be saved.

We lift up our President, Vice President and all of their associates, staff and families for faithfulness, courage and endurance through this time of trial. We pray the same for our military men and women, our first responders, our health and safety caregivers, churches and charities, especially those burdened with these tragedies. We pray for wisdom and conviction of Truth in the hearts of those leading our media, governments, private sector, schools and universities, that the words they speak and decisions they make would reflect Your Will for our nation.

Fortunately, You have already conquered this world.

In Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation;
but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. —John 16:33

If the world hates you, understand that it hated Me first. —John 15:18

As servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance;
in troubles, hardships, and calamities…—2 Cor 6:4

Dear Lord Jesus:

You warned the Disciples about deception, we ask that in this time You would strip back all the lies of liars who would deceive Americans and Your Church body, Lord, in a way that the lies and liars would be revealed for all to see.

Lord we pray for those in spiritual authority over us, that You might give our leaders wisdom. We pray for President Trump that he might have discernment about people around him; give him love and wisdom Lord God. Amen.

Your wickedness, lawlessness and selfish stewardship have led to the decline of your nation and imperilment of your people whose trust is yours as mandated by Me. Now I am opening the eyes of a large multitude of your people to see you as I do, which will lead to your utter humiliation and destruction.
