Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Our God and Heavenly Father
We Praise Your Holy Name.
You Are From Everlasting to Everlasting
Eternal, Immortal, Infinite
Not Bound By Time or Space
Because You created it all
With a Thought, With a Word, With a Command.
And, Although You created Everything,
From the Galactic Clusters to the Sub-atomic particle,
You Give us Permission to Call You "Abba, Father".

We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
According to your Will and Promise.
Let the people say:

"It is The LORD who has given us this land,
and not we ourselves."

For it is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
By By Your Spirit
That The enemy Shall Be Overcome.

May the Leaders of Our Own Beloved USA
Receive Wisdom from You
to do the Right Thing.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Two little Israeli girls were studying piano with me. The older of the two was the right age, but the younger one, age 5, was still too young. Nevertheless, I devised a way to make piano fun, using colored stickers and different colored nail polish on her little fingers to make melodies on the keyboard. She really enjoyed matching the colors on the keys with the colors on her fingernails and make actual melodies.

The keyboard was in a playroom next to the garage, and the lesson was at the end of the day, close to dinner time. One day, as we were seriously proceeding with our lesson, the sound of the garage-door-opener initiating could be heard through the wall.

Immediately, the two little girls leaped to their feet and screamed, "ABBA!!!! ABBA!!!" and they ran to the garage. Their dad got out of the car, covered in dust from a hard day's work as a stonemason, and they were jumping all over him, hugging and kissing, giggling and laughing with pure joy.

"ABBA" is the Hebrew Name that God gives us to describe the kind of relationship He wants to have with us, His creation. It means a whole lot more than just "Father" or even "Daddy". Both the Old and New Testaments share this Name with us.

What an incredible Joy and Privilege it is to be able to call the Supreme Lord of the Universe by that Wonderful Name!

The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
