Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

As we waited for nearly two hours in the cold drizzle, my husband kept assuring me that the wait would be worth it. Somehow, through a network of Sci-Fi movie fans, he had learned that the new movie we were about to see would change the course of Science Fiction movies and that I would love it. Well, he was right. The movie was, of course, the first STAR WARS (A New Hope), and it began a franchise (now owned by Disney) that changed the genre forever. In my most humble opinion, what caused the immense popularity of the original was the clear delineation between Good and Evil, Right and Wrong, and Heroism vs. Cowardice. (These lines have been blurred, unfortunately, in subsequent films) The climax of "A New Hope" shows Princess Leah taking her rightful place as Queen, and being crowned, in a scene that turned the antiheroes of the 60's and 70's on their heads.

This scene resonated with the public, who, raised on Disney Films that always ended the same way (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, etc) came to expect that Coronation Scene at the end. We know that We The People live in a Republic, and have no patience with Royals, yet, the adoration of Princess Diana and the horror of her death, or even the current fascination with the love-lives of her two sons, shows that there is something, somewhere deep inside that longs to see Our King. Psalm 2 tells us of "He Who Sits on the Throne", The Anointed One, The Messiah, Who laughs (yes, LAUGHS!) at the schemes and plots of the wicked ones who rule on earth. Soon and very Soon, the Big Coronation Scene that we have been longing for will fill the earth.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

Your graphic references Isaiah 62. The entire chapter is timely, what with the President's recent declaration.

Rectification and restoration of a woman's reputation:

1. For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness goes forth like radiance, and her salvation like a burning torch:
2. And the nations shall see your righteousness, and all kings your glory; and you shall be called by a new name, which the mouth of the Lord shall express:
3. You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord, and a royal diadem in the hand of your God:
4. You shall no more be termed Forsaken; nor shall your land any more be termed Desolate; but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for the Lord delights in you, and your land shall be married:

That was some presidential announcement. Also, there is a word patterning with the Hebrew in the similarities to Hephzibah/delights and Beula/married. Also word plays within Forsaken and Desolate.

Another data point, QE II and Prince Philip celebrated their 70th wedding anniversay on Nov 20th. It won't be whole lot longer until there will be new coronation. This is very much connected to the fact that America is a nation formed from the rejection of that monarchy.

A Divine flipped over story if ever there was one! And a great pun too: the United Kingdom. It's the simple meaning.
