Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

One of my favorite characters in the Literature of my youth was a poor "schlemiel" named Winston Smith. Winston had a job (everybody in his country did...it was supposed to be a "workers' paradise") that he went to every day, day in, day out. His duties were simple. All he had to do all day long was pore over every news item, every photograph, every speech, and every recorded archived item from the last several years to make sure they were in line with current policy. If the current position of the Administration had changed, Winston was ordered to DESTROY any evidence of prior contradictory remarks or pictures by excising the offending items from the official record and dropping them down the "Memory Hole".

I am sure that George Orwell, the Author of 1984, had Stalin in mind, who was famous for erasing people from the public record (including photographs!) when they fell from favor.

Neither Orwell nor Stalin could have possibly foreseen the permanence and easy accessibility of the Internet! Anything that has been posted and "cached" can be held up as proof of a politician's duplicity, sometimes YEARS later. Lately, Google and other Internet companies have been accused of "shadow banning", "skewing search results", etc, but they always get caught, sometimes by vigilant members of this very Website! Poor ol' Winston would NEVER have been able to keep up with the explosion of information!

This brings us to today's Scripture. In this passage that Names God as Our Redeemer, we see a rather grisly line speaking of the enemy resorting to cannibalism. Now that's just nasty! But what is it that we often say right here on FR, when an article appears relating left-wingers turning and attacking each other, or contradicting themselves, or being exposed as hypocrites?

"They eat their own."

Not very nice, but it aptly describes what the enemy does to THEMSELVES as it becomes harder and harder for them to put the past into the "Memory Hole."

Our God, Our Redeemer, Our Advocate, is the TRUTH, which, in the Long Run, is so much easier to live by, rather than the shifting mirage of duplicity.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
