Axios!

I know some will say that this barring from Holy Communion lacks mercy, but it is perfectly Biblical. It protects Durbin from the sacrilege of unrepentant false Communion (which would be a mortal sin); it protetcts the Blessed Sacrament from profanation/sacrilege; and it protects the faithful from the scandal which occurs when manifest public sinners are not called to repentance.

Paproki's mercy reflects that of Almighty God, Who does not want any to perish but that all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the Truth.

I am reminded that those to try to be "more merciful than God" end up ignoring or even enabling heartless people in their most merciless crimes. Check the Tagline by Flannery O'Connor.
