What is a church doing with a “stage?” “Staging” fake Christianity.

I think there are a lot of churches that have stages and they use them to put on plays or performances when not performing services. I know my old employers church did, we helped build it. I know that it is strange for Catholics to think of having a stage in the church, apparently not Baptists.

In reality the church is the people, the body of Christ. It’s not the building.

We don’t have a “sanctuary” we call it the auditorium. It’s just a big room with chairs. There’s a raised platform. I don’t think it has a name. Maybe stage or platform.

We don’t have an altar. There is a podium though

But, I can’t stand the concept of mega-churches. Most are too big to allow for any informality.

I proposed a ministry at my church which I now lead. I have a key to the building and can go there whenever I want, I don’t have to schedule use. If I can’t make it, I give my key to one of the other leaders, many who don’t even attend my church.
