We are weak by default; the fall corrupted every area of our nature.

God doesn’t need to do anything to impose this.

So is there going to be a stop in urging kids to come out?

If it’s wrong to help them go from homosexual to straight, then it’s just as wrong to help them go from straight to homosexual.

It needs to be confessed and repented of as sin.

I don’t doubt that it’s also demonic in origin.

The desires the person has may be demonically imposed without the person being aware that the thoughts and feelings they are having are not even their own.

The problem comes when someone makes their temptation their identity.

I don’t see anyone claiming that they are a Chrisitan prostitute, but God is OK with their prostitution because it serves a need and they share Christ with their johns.

I actually knew someone who claimed that God told her it was OK to do drugs as long as she did it with someone else and shared Christ with them.

After a few of those kinds of comments, I severed ties with that person. That is major league deception there.

I think you didn’t read it right.

I don’t think they are banning conversion therapy.

They are rejecting the bans by the states on conversion therapy.

There is a difference between “God making people gay” and being born gay.

Sin is a powerfully destructive force not just to us but to our physical environment. Our genetics are slowly failing because of it.

It was not God’s design for people to have homosexual attraction. The destruction and degradation of our genome means some people are born with homosexual attraction.

I read it wrong the first time too.

I had to reread it carefully to get what they were saying.

Your comment confuses me. Do you think the SBC is banning converion therapy? It's just the opposite: they're protesting the various State bans on conversion therapy.

Note, however, that the term "conversion therapy" is controversial. I would not use this term, because it is taken (by some LGBT's and their allies) to mean some program of alleged "treatments" like ECT whose efficacy is dubious.
