And when are the convictions going to happen I wonder?
They certainly should.
IMO, those priests, if they are truly repentant, should go public, make a public confession, defrock themselves, and turn themselves over to public authorities for whatever legal action their crimes demand.
That would show some sincerity in repentance.
It’s like the corruption in government, because the Catholic church leadership is first and foremost a financial and political organization. Power and wealth lays at the top and they will protect their memberships and corrupted Priesthood.
These are criminals hiding behind the Priesthood and those who shelter them. There will be very few actually prosecuted for their crimes. They ‘talk’ a lot about cleaning things up but the evidence is weak they are doing so.
That is biblical. "Do not receive an accusation against an elder except from two or three witnesses. Those who are sinning rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest also may fear." 1 Tim 5:19-20
