I am a trained EMHC. I would have noticed if someone went to the priest and was refused the Eucharist. Today one old man came up to me, received on the hand, and turned away before I could see him consume it. He also didn’t respond “amen” when I said, “the Body of Christ. So I kept an eye on him. Turns out he was fine. But I watch.
That happened to me also. I held up the line until I saw the person consume the host.
And that is one of the reasons I no longer serve as an EMHC unless it is an absolute emergency and no one else is available.
