(WIVB) - The woman who claims to have copied hundreds of incriminating documents from Bishop Malone's secret archives is coming forward.

Siobhan O'Connor, Malone's former executive assistant, will speak to 60 Minutes this Sunday night at 7 p.m.

60 Minutes will reveal what the documents she copied show.

According to CBSNEWS.com, O'Connor accuses him of withholding the names of dozens of priests with sex abuse accusations against them from a report released last March.

"Hundreds of documents O'Connor secretly copied from the confidential files of the Diocese of Buffalo offer an extraordinary window into Bishop Malone's decisions about priests accused of abuse. The devout O'Connor professes love for her church and her bishop. But she says she left the diocese last summer after three years because the documents she discovered indicated the bishop had allowed the accused priests to continue in ministry. "The reality of what I saw left me with no other option because at the end of my life, I'm not going to answer to Bishop Malone, I am going to answer to God," she tells Whitaker."

"I did betray [Bishop Malone], and yet I can't apologize for that, because there was a greater good to consider," says O'Connor.

It's good that more pervs are being exposed. Excellent.

But the one thing that bothers me is how anyone's private documents can be stolen and disseminated with impunity. The Left started it. Anyone's tax returns, private minutes of meetings, love letters, anything is fair game.

This lady should have talked to prosecutors who could then have gotten a warrant. It just doesn't seem right than anyone can help themselves to private stuff. It is a form of theft, not to mention the antithesis of the spirit of the fourth amendment.

A 60-page text that was the fruit of intense discussions among 267 male prelates and 72 lay auditors at the month-long synod gathering, the document however softens an earlier draft's language regarding the ongoing clergy sexual abuse crisis, retreating from a promise that the Catholic Church would practice "zero tolerance" on the issue.

Where the first draft, presented to the synod participants privately Oct. 23, had five paragraphs devoted to clergy abuse, the final version has three. Instead of the original reference to "zero tolerance," the final version says the synod "reaffirms the firm commitment for the adoption of rigorous measures of prevention" of abuse.

Looks like the homo bishops prevailed.

That argument is nonsense. When one is aware of evil, one is obliged to fight it and bring it to light. The Catholic Church is not confined to man-made ammendments; it's obliged only to God.

My old friend Ed Ryan of the Diocese of Buffalo, a holy strong good man, classic Catholic, died four years ago at age 88 --- I was thinking of him, glad he died before all this SHTF.

And then I was thinking of the fact that he's in Heaven right now (not canonized of course, but I picture him sitting there with a sheaf of Plenary Indulgences in his pocket --- we always used to kid him about that) and I think, "Ed and 10,000 other Buffalo Catholics are in heaven and they MUST be praying for the faithful there---

Sometime my main comfort is the thought that we have uncountable ranks and files of departed saints who are all besieging the Throne of Grace in their love and concern for their lifelong communities. Communities where modern bishops with their madcap, makeshift, miniscule morality have squandered the physical and spiritual patrimony of our Catholic home.

I wish I could talk to Ed right now. I wonder what he and the other Buffalo Blesseds would want us to do? Close as they are, now, to the Lord we love.

There is a very famous man named Thomas Moore upon whom the Roman Catholic church conferred sainthood. There was an incident in his life during a heated conversation with his son in law, William Roper (a very good lawyer in his own right). Playwright Robert Bolt immortalized the incident in his play A Man for All Seasons:

More: Yes. What would you do? Cut a great road through the law to get after the Devil?
Roper: I'd cut down every law in England to do that!
More: Oh? And when the last law was down, and the Devil turned round on you — where would you hide, Roper, the laws all being flat? Moore, known to Roman Catholics as Saint Thomas Moore, knew the balance that must be maintained between civil law and God's law. The fourth amendment is to assure us that we are safe in our papers:

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
