This is pretty complex, so let me summarize my understanding, that others may clarify.

Pope Francis staff can't refute AB Vigano's charges, so they claim 2 things:

1- They assert AB Vigano is politically motivated,

2- They claim that the mishandling of the homosexual problems of McCarrick are attributable to Pope Saint John Paul II,

And, oh by the way, his canonization was not an infallible act....and the same is true for Pope Saint John XXIII and Pope Saint Paul VI.....?
