>>Old St Mary’s near Chinatown?<<

Yes, I used to attend Mass there on a regular basis, and would usually go downstairs afterward for coffee and to look over the books, etc. that one of the ladies offered for sale. I also served on the altar there for several years at the Christmas midnight Mass. Occasionally Justice Antonin Scalia would attend the Mass and also go down to the coffee social.

Some of the attendees, including myself, would sometimes attend Mass at the old St. John’s chapel off New Hampshire Ave. which I think was in Takoma Park. Our group would also attend Mass in Baltimore at Saint Alphonsus. On several occasions we drove to a church in Scranton which, as I recall was under the control of the FSSP.

I had seen both Antonin Scalia and Pat Buchanan at Old St. Marys’ TLM Masses.

I’m also familiar with the Old St. John’s Church (Church of the Holy Cross) in Garret Park, MD.

We may have crossed paths.

Whoops. The church I was thinking of is Old St. John’s (St. John the Evangelist) in Silver Spring, MD.
