Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
This morning, I awoke around 6:00AM with a piercing sinus headache. Well, I have had these before, and know that my herbal face pack, heated for exactly one minute in the microwave, does the trick of dispelling a sinus headache without the use of drugs. So I stumbled out of bed, grabbed the face pack, and worked my way into the kitchen to heat it in the brand new built-in microwave oven that had been installed last June. I opened the door...and it was dark inside! I pressed buttons, but there was no display. It was DEAD. OK...I have the receipt, but this involves de-installing the (HEAVY) unit, returning it to the store, fighting with the clerk for a refund, and finding someone to install a new one. I almost wanted to go to a DIFFERENT store that offers installation, but I still had to contend with the original one, yada, yada, yada. And my head hurt too much to think about it. So I tossed the face pack back onto the bureau and tried to get a few more hours of sleep.
But THEN, I started thinking. Was this related to the Sewing Machine Incident of a few days ago? Was there something wrong electrically that was shorting out my appliances? Do I need to call an electrician? Is my house going to burn down? Am I under spiritual attack?
I prayed and prayed, and researched in my mind any other electrical anomalies that could be contributing to the problem. But all the other appliances in the kitchen were fine, so it was JUST the microwave (Thank God!).
OK..so after a few hours of this, I got up, got dressed and walked the dog. While I was walking her, a HUGE truck pulled into the park, lodged itself in front of my driveway effectively blocking my car , and proceeded to pump out the septic system for the entire community RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FRONT DOOR. Now I know this has to be done periodically, but the noise and the smell, combined with the sinus headache and the other issues were just a bit much.
It was in this unhappy state that I turned on the computer to write today's Devotional.
In the first few verses of Chapter 4, Paul addresses two women who are his fellow workers. That jumped out at me, as we don't often think of New Testament women in these kind of roles. But...there they are.
Paul advises them to be in agreement with each other as they contend for the faith as Paul's Fellow Warriors.
This is the prelude to one of the most optimistic, encouraging, positive, and uplifting passages of the Bible, which is coming tomorrow.
I feel better already!

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails. ..1 Corinthians 13(NIV)

Perhaps it was the Lord telling you that you don’t need a microwave. I got rid of mine 6 years ago. Do the research. Mercola.com
