Rome (AsiaNews) - Bishop Vincenzo Guo Xijin risks not being able to celebrate the Chrism Mass on Holy Thursday because the Religious Affairs Office and the United Front do not recognize him as a bishop. I don’t see that what China is doing is bad.
They have their own culture (belief systems) that they are trying to protect and they see the pope and Christianity as a threat and they are imposing certain restrictions on them.
We could learn from them by imposing similar restrictions to Islam in this country, which is anathema to our own values.
