Mat_8:14 And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother laid, and sick of a fever.
Mar_1:30 But Simon’s wife’s mother lay sick of a fever, and anon they tell him of her.
Luk_4:38 And he arose out of the synagogue, and entered into Simon’s house. And Simon’s wife’s mother was taken with a great fever; and they besought him for her.
And no prohibition to be married.
I am fully aware that Simon Peter left his wife to follow Jesus. (Luke 14:26 applies here)
The fact that Simon Peter was married before he left for the ministry with Our Lord does not address the issue at hand which is the fact that scripture states that celibacy is recommended for the kingdom’s sake.
Matthew 19:12 specifically states that “there are eunuchs that made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom’s sake. He that can take, let him take it.”
Priests voluntarily “can take” and so they do. It is the better way, for those who can do it. It is not required it; is chosen.
