I think that's a serious misreading of the situation. Even though the left has no positive message to unite around, it is united in hatred of Christianity, and that gives it a power that will only get stronger and more virulent as time goes by.

Christians believe that Jesus will triumph in the end, but until then we are likely to see some very difficult times, possibly another round of overt and brutal persecution.
