He isn’t a Christian and therefore doesn’t care about the protesters in Hong Kong. He is however, a committed Socialist so he likely wants the protesters completely crushed for daring to challenge government.
Well, the Pope is the Pope, right?

Wasn’t long ago that young Catholic men and women followed Christ’s heed to go forth and teach all nations. Many served their entire lives and often died as missionaries. This Pope has openly disparaged their sacrifices and considers it unseemly that Catholics would propagate the good news. He has in the most shameful manner abandoned the loyal Catholics of China who despite open persecution and personal reprisals held and stayed loyal to their faith. He behaves as a crass agnostic who has no appreciation or understanding of the Church and its mission.
The Pope’s(Francis) Chicom handlers wouldn’t allow it.
