Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name over all the Earth!
You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are LORD,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
We Worship You and You Alone.

Dear Father, as You have Shown us in Your Holy Word,
You have set aside those who love You
You have separated them apart
And call them "Holy Unto The Lord."
Now, All the Nations turn against Jerusalem once again in History.
Your Word tells us You Hold These nations in Derision and LAUGH at THEM!
Your Word tells us You will break these Nations with a rod of iron.
Lord, we pray for the Holy Remnant of Your people
Who continue to pray and seek Your Face.

For the Sake of Your Anointed,
and For The Sake of Your Name,
We pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel,
According to Your Word,
and Your Promise.

We Pray For Our President,
And other Leaders of Our Beloved USA
May They Receive Wisdom from You
To do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Brahms, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Bizet, Bartok, and other Classical Composers were not shy about lifting older songs and embedding them into new arrangements. Liszt's "Hungarian Rhapsodies", Brahms' "Hungarian Dances", and, most notably, Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture" all contain recognizable folk tunes and hymns that have been re-arranged, up-ended, and enhanced to create something new. It could be argued that some of those melodies would be lost to history if the Giants of Classical Music hadn't "borrowed" them.

Psalm 86 is the only Psalm in Book III that is ascribed to David. One can only imagine that the ancient compilers of these songs saw a thematic harmony with this Psalm and the others in this collection. It shows also that the Psalms of David continued to be a part of the liturgical life of the Temple long after David's death, through the Exile, and beyond. The narrator of the Psalm refers to himself as "God's Servant". That could be David, the current ruler, or even you or me.

The Psalm is neatly arranged into 5 symmetrical Stanzas.

Verses 1-4 is the Initial Prayer
Verses 5-7 Sings of the Goodness of God
Verses 8-10 (the center stanza) is the pivot point of the Chiastic Structure, turning on the Center Verse 9: "The Glory of God" and all nations will eventually bow before Him.
Verses 11-15 is personal..."Teach Me". It expresses Trust and Anticipation of God's answer to prayer
Verses 14-17 Conclusion and reaffirmation of Stanza 1, thus framing the Psalm.

An interesting point in this Psalm is that the wicked do not acknowledge God's Anointed Ruler. Some things never change.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven." (Matthew 5:16)

God Bless America!

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
