On Judgment Day, after our sins are shouted from the mountains, Jesus Christ will cover or vouch for the effects of our sins, due to our true belief in Him and our hearts being truly with Him. We are, at that time, made Holy in Gods Eyes and can be in Heaven.
There is no Purgatory and nothing in the above article references such a thing. After all, it even takes this imbecile dipping into non-Canon documents and reliance upon Tradition to eek out just a bit more to try to push his assertion over the line. Sadly, he cant do it, and, sadly, we have FReepers who are so stupid they cant see this and cant debate their way out of the simplest of corners. Right, ebb tide?
Care to give chapter and verse?
During all the years I was a Catholic, I was bewildered over the prospect of torment in purgatory. Would a just and merciful God condemn me to eons of pain for whatever trivial sins I committed during my life as a faithful Catholic?
It’s a daunting proposition, and one that, on a common sense basis, contradicts any notion of a just and merciful Heavenly Father.
I’m in the process of going LCMS Lutheran, where the theology actually makes sense.
