Oh my. The traditional understanding is that scripture, tradition (the magisterium), and reason are all valid guides, but that each has known limitations so that all three should be consulted. They cross check each other. In the normal run of things, all three should be consistent. The interesting and difficult questions arise when there is an apparent conflict.
Francis has thrown out the checks and balances. He is guided solely by the whisperings of his own mind. This works if one is divinely inspired. I do not think Francis is divinely inspired.

Therefore, the Pope can only be informed by the Holy Spirit in so much as what the Pope hears from the "holy spirit" coincides with the Holy Word or Holy Scripture, because...

I do not believe any word out of Francis mouth comes to us from the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit did not see His church as weak during all the persecutions with the Roman Emperors. The Holy Spirit would never have signed Francis’ deal with the Communists in China, as if he had to in order to “save” the Catholic Church there. That deal showed Francis is a man of more faith in himself and too little faith in the Holy Spirit.
