When activists successfully legalized assisted suicide in California, they persuaded the California Medical Association to shift from opposition to neutrality with the promise that no doctor would be forced to participate. But here’s the thing with assisted suicide: Such promises are made to be broken.
Now that assisted suicide is well-ensconced in California culture, a bill has been filed that would destroy medical conscience for doctors who oppose assisted suicide. From SB 380 (new text in italics):
(3) If a health care provider is unable or unwilling to carry out a qualified individual’s request under this part and the qualified individual transfers care to a new health care provider or health care facility, the individual’s medical records shall be provided to the individual and, upon the individual’s request, timely transferred with documentation of the date of the individual’s request for a prescription for aid-in-dying drug in the medical record, pursuant to law.
(4) Failure to provide information about medical aid in dying to an individual who requests it, or failure to refer upon the individual’s request to another health care provider or health care facility that is willing to provide the information, is considered a failure to obtain informed consent for subsequent medical treatments.
(5) Neither a health care provider nor a health care facility shall engage in false, misleading, or deceptive practices relating to a willingness to qualify an individual or provide a prescription to a qualified individual under this part. Intentionally misleading an individual as to the willingness of a provider or facility to participate under this part constitutes coercion or undue influence.
Here is what that would mean. A physician who refused to prescribe poison to a legally qualified patient — perhaps because of religious beliefs or wanting to simply follow the Hippocratic Oath — would......

If I fulfil this oath and do not violate it, may it be granted to me to enjoy life and art, being honored with fame among all men for all time to come; if I transgress it and swear falsely, may the opposite of all this be my lot.
A violation of the Hippocratic oath, if medical doctors still take that ancient relic of a dead western civilization created by white men.

A buddy of mine sadly chose this route only 2 weeks ago. He was definitely terminal, but of sound mind.
From reading this it looks like they just want to require your Doctor To send your medical information to another Doctor willing to prescribe a lethal drug cocktail, if your Doctor isn’t willing. I dont see a problem.
Once while I was surf fishing and trying to unhook a catfish, he gave a big shake and drove one of his spines between where two fingers joined my hand. I had pliers, but was too chicken to yank out the spine. Thankfully, a couple was strolling down the beach and the man agreed to do the job.
I was chicken because of the anticipated pain after pulling out the spine.
To anyone contemplating suicide, think about the consequences AFTER your death. Do not let “Medically Assisted Suicide” keep you from those most serious questions of your life.

The progressive agenda marches on. Mandatory euthanasia is coming for those the state deems to be unproductive. Elderly, severely handicapped beware.
The more I see of Progressives actions, the more I am sure that those people are demon possessed.
That would be no surprise. Why should the youth of today value lives of their parents more than their parents valued theirs before birth? Is it convenient? You live. If not, you die. Now the parents are becoming inconvenient.
The problem is paragraph 4: “failure to refer upon the individual’s request to another health care provider or health care facility THAT IS WILLING TO PROVIDE THE INFORMATION,”
This requires the physician to to find a doctor willing to provide poison, in other words, to participate in ending the patient’s life.
The left/democrats are murderous people. They kill babies and call it “freedom”. They like killing, they enjoy it. It gives them the sense that they have the power over life and death. In essence... it makes them feel like they are a GOD! They’re truly EVIL people.
According to traditional Judeo-Christian beliefs, Suicide is the worst sin you can ever commit to destroy your chance for eternal life. You commit murder without the chance of repentance!
Victims of suicide were traditionally denied Christian funeral and burial in Christian cemetery.
I just do not know how you can force anybody to participate in this.
The people in California cannot be this bad, can they? It is not just the Governor that they are talking about recalling! Trying to force Doctors to violate their Hypocratic oath by law is dispicable!
Kill us off so they don’t have to pay our social security???

The elderly are inconvenient to the children. The elderly are costly for the state. Zeke Emmanuel, a prominent Democrat MD, professor, and architect of healthcare policy is on the record that people over age 75 are not productive to society.
Consider the value of the leftist state ending the lives of the elderly at an arbitrary age - say 75. The cost of Social Security and Medicare drops. The carbon footprint is reduced. The value of the estate can be confiscated through high taxation. The number of conservative voters is reduced. To the progressive state, which does not value the individual, the elderly are a burden, making no contribution to society but consuming resources.
Hence we will see an evolution over a number of years as we have seen in so many aspects of our society and culture. First “voluntary euthanasia”. Then “end of life counseling”. Then, panels to determine what medical care will or will not be provided to the elderly as a group. Then actual death panels at local levels determining if sick elderly patients admitted to the hospital will be given life extending treatment. Finally compulsory euthanasia. Beyond a certain age your life will not continue unless you have particular value to the state (prominent politicians, billionaires, politically connected scientists like Fauci, some celebrities.
