A Catholic Sinner Seeks Communion—And Happens to Be President

Some bishops—and many conservative laypeople—think Joe Biden should be denied access to one of the faith’s most important sacraments.

Father Kevin Gillespie and the staff at Holy Trinity Catholic Church find out that President Joe Biden is coming to Mass an hour and a half ahead of time. For security reasons, only a few people can know, including the music director, who might otherwise get suspicious when Secret Service agents start poking around in her piano. The parish limits its services to 50 people to minimize the spread of COVID-19, but it makes an exception when the president and his detail attend. The first time Biden came, everyone applauded his arrival, but then he took his spot in an out-of-the-way pew. When it was time to receive Communion, he got in line like any other parishioner. And afterward, he knelt before God.

If some Catholic leaders had their way, Biden wouldn’t be able to take Communion at all. A committee of bishops recently gathered to examine the “difficult and complex situation” of a Catholic president who publicly supports expanding abortion rights, contrary to the faith’s teachings. Later this year, a representative of that group will likely offer guidance on Biden’s future ability to take Communion. For now, the cardinal who oversees Washington, D.C., Wilton Gregory, has said the president is welcome to attend any Mass in his archdiocese. “I don’t want to go to the table with a gun,” Gregory told Religion News Service.

If you support the killing of infants then you are not nor can be a good catholic or even Christian. Even faiths like islam and Hebrews condemn abortion. Abortion is a sin before any God.

Trinity church in Georgetown is most left wing Catholic church ever, a complete disgrace.

“A Catholic Sinner”

Half-clever spin in the title; it’s meant to say ‘hey, aren’t we all sinners’ - but too many can tell the difference between occasional lapses soon repented, and making barbaric sin a policy.

Just so you know, you (Christians) got it from us (Hebrews).

(And islam isn't a faith. It's a military organization.

“”Later this year, a representative of that group will likely offer guidance on Biden’s future ability to take Communion.””

WOW - don’t want to work too fast, do we?

They must be planning on never having to tackle the problem because he’ll be out of office before then....

Can’t that include the US Senators and Representatives who are Catholic? According to a search, there are 21 Senators and 88 Representatives. They are probably attending church in DC most weeks...

Other Catholics who marry a divorced woman whose husband is still alive are not supposed to receive Communion. Did they find a loophole for Joe? If Jill’s first marriage was in a Protestant ceremony, maybe they could have trotted out the “Pauline privilege.”

The author conveniently omits any mention of the Catholic Church's Code of Canon Law. It states:

Canon 1398: "A person who procures a completed abortion incurs a latae sententiae excommunication."

When Biden's executive order caused a payment for an abortion he was automatically excommunicated. Period. End of discussion.

You can have all the sympathetic discussions you wish, but Joe is not a Catholic in good standing.

Point well taken. But dont tell the Nuns at St George that. They didnt take kindly to Jews. I think a lot of them were on the run from the Mossad for war crimes.

Of course, Christianity is the flower of Judaism.

“An UN-REPENTANT sinner” is what they fail to point out. At least that he continues to imply because he says ‘i’m against but i’ll endorse others doing it.

President Biden has incurred an automatic excommunication as a consequence of his public support of same-sex “marriage” and abortion.
It isn’t complicated.

The Bishops are spineless and support liberal politicians for “social justice” and look the other way when the politicians actively support abortion, euthanasia and gay marriage. Teddy Kennedy, despite living a very public rakes life and staunchly supporting abortion was give a full Catholic burial. Biden is even more pro abortion than Ted Kennedy ditto Nancy Pelosi and Andrew Cuomo, yet they call themselves good Catholics.
