[Catholic Caucus] Ireland: Priests Hide Behind Rocks

Irish Father Gerard Quirke celebrated Easter Sunday Mass at a Mass rock on the scenic Achill Island, CatholicArena.com reports.

For the second year running, the pagan government in Ireland forbad all worship during Holy Week and Easter.

Mass rocks are locations where Catholics gathered to attend forbidden Masses during the Penal Times which were enforced by the British regime from 1695 to at least 1829 in order to exterminate the Catholics and Catholic Church.

Here is a link to “Mass Rock in the Glen”

Once again, people can claim that they have knelt thus.

I’m in a more fortunate position, but still found myself kneeling on the Church steps for the Easter Vigil due to capacity limits—with a police cruiser going slowly by, and a helicopter making a pass over the parking lot (probably a lost medic chopper though).

Canada is about as bad as Ireland. I pray for you Catholics in both countries.

Here in the states, it’s our own bishops who are going above and beyond the state sanctions.

When I read some of the things that some of the bishops around the world say, I have to wonder if our Catholic leads are trying to kill the Church.

(from the article): " For the second year running, the pagan government in Ireland forbad all worship during Holy Week and Easter.

Is it time for Ireland to have a resurgence of the AOH (Ancient Order of Hibernians) to allow for religious freedom ??
I hope not !

Your quote is just a little off.

The road to hell is paved with the bones of priests and monks, and the skulls of bishops are the lampposts that light the path. St. John Chrysostom

or

The floor to hell is paved with the skulls of priests. St. Athanasius,
