"flawed". I guess they just has some bad regs. But in no way was the diocese covering up the atrocities of their priests. Nah.

Stupid man.
They should have been moved to prison and been publicly shamed, regardless of any hit to the reputation of his diocese It would have deterred hundreds of others.

The Wanderer Catholic newspaper had been covering this back in the early ‘90s, before Dallas and Boston broke. Hubbard was a wunderkid Bishop named in his youth (for a bishop) and had lots of time to mess up what had been a good diocese. The 12-part series was called the “agony in Albany” and may well be findable online.

Bishop Hubbard has been publicly accused of sexual misconduct seven times since 2019. Just this past March, Hubbard was accused of molesting an 11-year-old boy at a carnival more than 40 years ago.It amazes me that the Vatican allowed this mass pedophilia to go on in the U.S. for so long. Didn't they understand they were ruining lives and ruining the Catholic church?

In 2008 a movie came out called “Doubt” with Meryl Streep and Philip Seymour Hoffman that explores this subject.....it was probly way more accurate than ever imagined.

Hubbard said that he regrets the “flawed” system. He regrets that the "system" damaged hundreds — and perhaps thousands — of children, some of whom went on to damage other children in a slow-motion chain reaction.

Bottom line, they didn’t care what happened to those boys... They didn’t care what happened to the church.
