Albuquerque, N.M. — The Archdiocese of Santa Fe will be auctioning nearly 140 parcels of property next month as it seeks to settle a raft of sex abuse claims.

Church officials announced Aug. 10 that an online auction will begin Sept. 21. Opening bids will start as low as $500 for vacant pieces of property that are spread throughout three counties in central New Mexico. Another auction is planned for November.

Matthew 7:21“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. 22On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Lord, please cleanse the filth and corruption from your Church.

The silver lining may be that some of the Eastern Churches may survive this. The Byzantine, Maronite, etc. rites are far less susceptible to the Lavender Mafia in Rome.

I hope so.

Maybe some can be purchased by traditional Catholics to be used as “non-parochial” churches in order to offer the outlawed TLM.

Most of these appear to be vacant lots in the middle of the desert. Not actual churches. Look like properties dumped by estates to non taxpaying entities. I suspect they little value.

They'll have immeasurable value when "private" chapels are erected on them to offer the TLM.

To paraphrase the Field of Dreams, "Build it and they will come".

I called this 5 years ago.
This is only the beginning.
CA will be next selling property and CA is chomping at the bit to get them.

Many years ago people built churches on their property. So they could have Mass said by a traveling priest. For instance my great grandfather did this in NM and the small community had a place to gather and bury the dead. The land the church stands on is in the middle of 320 acres of cattle grazing land but is owned by the Diocese of Santa Fe. It seems to me that many families would like to have their land and ancestors graves back at a reasonable price.
