If the essayist is suggesting that we need to oppose the "papalism of the spirit of Vatican I" is he suggesting that the bishops should be more collegial as is the case in the Orthodox Church? Are we now encouraged to migrate to those diocese led by bishops who are faithful to the true magisterium?
The Church is supposed to be a sturdy ship in a storm-tossed sea. A refuge for those who wish to enter the Kingdom. However, lately it appears that it might be safer to get into one of the lifeboats and risk the waves.
I posit that it's somewhere in between. Just like most Christians I know are cautiously hopeful, but resolved to not just roll over and play dead re: the leftist NWO agenda. We can fight against the "fundamental transformation" the left has planned for us all... while acknowledging that biblical prophecy shows that they will continue their agenda until Christ returns.
