Some people ain’t worth the cost of the shovel.

Examination of our own biases is not encouraged. Some may be perfectly legit and cause no harm either to self or others. But that is not always the case which is why vigorous public discussion should be the norm. It helps present different issues from different perspectives and lets the light shine on the darkest of them. You can’t clean the corners in the dark.

I totally agree.

MY basic point is “different perspectives” unfortunately fall too often on deaf ears, closed to only their own biases, and many of the same will not examine facts if the narrative fits their biases.

My pet peeve of some conservatives sometimes is when they want to support what is at its heart a good idea, but their argument uses untruths in the attempt to get their point across. To them, they made their point, but when the facts are broken down their approach used false information, and that hurts everyone arguing the same idea but using factual truths. Our enemies love the carelessly made argument. They generate their own support pointing out some “conservative’s” factual errors.
