NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Pat Robertson, who turned a tiny Virginia television station into a global religious broadcasting network, is stepping down after a half-century running the “700 Club” on daily TV, the Christian Broadcasting Network announced on Friday.
Robertson, 91, said in a statement that he hosted the network’s flagship program for the last time on Friday, and that his son Gordon Robertson will take over the weekday show starting Monday.

That is an incredible run.
Pat, I haven’t always completely agreed with you, but you did a lot of good.
May you glorify God until the end.
RE: That is an incredible run.
Pat is 91 years old this year. So, if it was a 54 year run, he started CBN and the 700 Club at age 37.
At 91 years old.....he’s had a heck of a run is right. Though he’s not my taste for speakers nor religious instruction he’s certainly stood the test of time and tide.
I watched him every morning for news. His father was a US senator. so he was very savvy about politics. Told my neighbors, even atheists, and they watched too. Sorry I missed his last day, slept late.
Pat Robertson was okay in my book until back in 2005 he called for the assassination of Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez. He kinda lost me on that one.
I prefer my pastors to be non-political as much as possible.
I wonder what kind of President Pat would have been if he had been elected.
I remember meeting Pat Robertson in my friend’s Virginia Beach house. I will always have fond memories of that time.
He stands for a culture that honors God and you whine that he's political. God help us. Besides, he doesn't pastor a church.
> Why allow only black/liberal pastors to be political. <
I never said that. No pastors should be political. Preach the Gospel. Then let me decide how the Gospel applies to Senate bill 43 (or whatever).
There have been rumors of Epstein like activity for years about this man. I wouldn’t trust him to babysit my dog. I did like his program at times over the year, but he was all flash and no teaching. Benny Hinn, Tammy Fay and others.... became rich selling the Word of God.
But that’s not where we are as a nation. Only one side is fighting and it’s not us. Robertson is a commentator who happens to be a pastor - something you don’t seem to understand. You are happy to stand down while the other side wins all the battles. The other side doesn’t even need to break a sweat to win, since it makes you uncomfortable being political. God help us.
I decided to do a search on China and Robertson. . .rather interesting https://goodfaithmedia.org/pat-robertson-explores-opportunity-in-china-cms-8255/
An extremely disappointing position by him. He went off the deep end.
Only about 20 yrs too long of a run.
He has led a monumental life of action, and I hope he has a pleasant retirement.
then you woul dnot have liked many of the pastors of our country’s founding era. Many were very political in their sermons.
Pat was great on some things, I watched at times when I first became a Christian. I noticed he was drifting left a decade or more ago. quit watching. Do appreciate the truly God based work, but not the laodician based views and work of CBN.
