Supreme Court Sets Argument Date for Challenge to Roe v. Wade

The Supreme Court announced Monday that it will hear arguments in a critical abortion case on Dec. 1.

In the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, a challenge to Mississippi’s law restricting most abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, the court will decide the question of whether all state abortion bans pre-viability are unconstitutional. “Viability” is the court’s legal standard from 1973, regarded as the point at which an unborn child can survive outside the womb.

The court on Monday announced the date of oral arguments in the Dobbs case, scheduled for Dec. 1. Both the state of Mississippi and the abortion clinic challenging the law will have an opportunity to present arguments in-person to justices both for and against the law.

The Dobbs case is considered to be the latest and perhaps the best opportunity for pro-life advocates to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion nationwide. States, the court ruled in Roe, could not ban abortions pre-viability.

Mississippi’s Gestational Age Act, the law in question, was signed into law in 2018 but is not currently in effect. Although it restricted most abortions after 15 weeks, it included exceptions for when the mother’s life or major bodily function is in danger, or in cases where the unborn child has a severe abnormality and is not expected to survive outside the womb at full term.

Prepare for a new “Roe” result for the next 30 years. I have no confidence in any part of our Government. We are on our own and the only viable next step is....well, you know.

God is the author of all life. There is no such think as what abortionists call "viability". All new life is viable until God says otherwise. All life. Satanists and baby killers need not apply.

Indeed!

But I will caution this.

Do you recall when the armies were against the walls of Jerusalem and the people repented of keeping their brethren in bondage? How when they saw relief they took back their repentance and once again enslaved the Israelites that they had freed?

Recall what the outcome of that was.

Now overturning Roe would be sort of a repentance for this nation; but, there are millions rabidly prepared to fight tooth and nail to draw us all back from that (hopefully to be soon) achievement, and they fight with all the powers of Satan’s hierarchy behind them.

If after overturning Roe they successfully press forward again in this wickedness would we face the doom they deserve just as the better people of ancient Jerusalem still faced to doom their wicked countrymen deserved? Can a nation mock the Lord and it just go away?

Taking back “repentance” is a very, very dangerous undertaking.

I hesitate on this subject because I don’t identify as a female, and I am not young enough to copulate daily or more often with random females.

I understand the moral and religious reasons on both sides.

I had thought this was a states rights issue not a federal issue.

Bottom line, there are a lot of far more pressing problems in the country than this, and focusing and pushing this issue is a distraction that has allowed the rise of the govt we see today.

Could it be possible that the most genocidal Nation in Earth’s history is about to get slapped down by its own SCOTUS?

I agree with you there. And I know that Biden et al have been champing at the bit to bring us back to this topic because.... what else do they have?. But it will be interesting to see how/if the divined “ right to privacy” will be used in oral arguments given our current climate.

I think the carnage would be extreme if we reverse Roe. Bring it on, of course. We can’t use that as an excuse to merrily slaughter 4,000 children per day. US citizens mostly.

And the death obsessed will make this blatantly clear on Dec. 1 and other days, rioting and demonstrating and threatening and all manner of intimidation. It is likely enough to sway our justices, to their shame.

Still I will pray. We need to stop this.

You don’t need to be female or a loose man to weigh in on whether children should be killed upon their mother’s wish. This is basic civil rights.

We are terrible. But we aren’t the most genocidal nation on earth, not by a long shot.

Scrotus doesn’t do that many constitutionally appropriate rulings these days. You can’t count on them for anything.

Especially since they pontius pilated the 202 election fraud case.

Would it be bad to ask if this time the rioters would act up in places where their fellow citizens will simply shoot them?

Yeah, probably….

I think the term for such a man is “rake”

and basic civil/human rights are in the eye of the beholder.

I would say it should be illegal to inject into my body a substance which causes my own cells to produce poison, but many people disagree with me.

"We are terrible. But we aren’t the most genocidal nation on earth, not by a long shot."

Really?

How many other Nations have exceeded 60,000,000 (as of 2018) genocidal deaths since 1973? The word "terrible" is a cop-out descriptive term in this case...
