Yesterday, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that it is rescinding waivers of non-discrimination requirements issued during the Trump Administration to South Carolina, Texas and Michigan, along with certain child welfare agencies in those states. The waivers allowed faith-based foster care placement agencies to receive federal funds even though they select foster parents on the basis of religion. (See prior posting.) In its release yesterday, HHS summarized the background for its action:
Through these waivers, States and child welfare agencies – including States and organizations that did not make such requests - were granted exemptions from program nondiscrimination requirements in a rule that was not in effect. In taking today's actions, HHS is reestablishing its long-standing Department practice of evaluation of religious exemptions and modifications of program requirements on a case-by-case basis, as needed, and as is required by law—which was unprecedently changed in 2017 by the previous Administration.

FR: Never Accept the Premise of Your Opponent’s Argument
Regardless that Democratic federal lawmakers provide childcare funding to help win votes to stay in power, it remains that that states have never expressly constitutionally given the feds the specific power to tax and spend for INTRAstate childcare.

In other words, so-called “federal” funding for childcare should never have left the states in the first place.
Again, desparate Democrats provide unconstitutional federal childcare funding based on unconstitutional federal taxes in order to stay in power.

Consider that all the states can effectively “secede” from the unconstitutionally big federal government by doing the following.
Patriots need to primary federal and state elected officials who don't send voters email ASAP that clearly promises to do the following.
Federal and state lawmakers need to promise in their emails to introduce resolutions no later than 100 days after start of new legislative sessions that proposes an amendment to the Constitution to the states, the amendment limited to repealing the 16th and ill-conceived 17th Amendments.

Looks like the Judicial system is beginning to put this tyrant in his place. At least one branch of the government understands the constitution. The 2022 election will put a stop to the legislative branch over reaching laws destroying our country. That’s 2 of the 3. And of course, 2024 is a no brainer.
