[This is a precursor.
Before there is a “Mark” of the “Beast”, there will need to be a “Beast” rising on the scene. Everyone will LOVE this guy; everyone will think he’s GREAT and a man who brings peace to the world.
THEN you can worry about the “mark” he imposes on everyone..]
correct - it will be the middle of the 7-year peace deal.
Prayers up!
[You don’t have to believe it’s the “Mark of the Beast” to recognize it’s an evil to be resisted at all costs.]
Something must be wrong somewhere, what with all the hysteria and over-reactions.
It may not be THE Mark of the Beast, but it is the Mark of Molech.
Is Graham ok with getting the Chip? Would he get it?
Thank you.
Agreed.
I would not get it. It is acceptance of despotism.
I hope Graham would not.
Interesting how the covid scam paralleled what is in the bible?
Discussions about not allowing people to shop for food. People actually losing their jobs. Poking around in people’s bank accounts.
And no religious exemptions.
Didn’t feel like the real deal but it did feel like a dress rehearsal.
So, will the beast of revelation be a literal 7 headed 10 horned monster?
During WWII, there were probably a lot of Christians that thought Hitler was the beast.
Consider:
. The bent-cross Nazi logo
. The charismatic leader with hypnotic power
. The guillotine for political enemies
. Mass extermination of Jewry
. Arising in the heart of the old Holy Roman Empire
. Impressing of much of Continental Europe into the Reich
. The unprecedented EVIL of the Nazis
Probably some I missed.
True.
Although, there is more than one anti-christ.
Yes, in the tradition of Daniel’s beasts. In those, Daniel is specifically informed by an angel what they represent.
I can recall no text that tells me that the mark of the beast, itself, represents something other than a mark on the hand or forehead.
Can you cite one?
Is the seal of God a literal/physical mark in the foreheads of the saved?
Rev 7:2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,
Rev 7:3 Saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads.
Rev 9:4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
Rev 14:1 And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Zion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads.
Scripture interprets scripture in this case:
2 Corinthians 1:22 — The New King James Version (NKJV)
22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.
The anti-christ is a possessed human and will use physical means.
The Lord uses spiritual means AND explains them.
No, the MOTB is a Spiritual mark, just as the Seal of God is a Spiritual mark. The Saints who do not receive the MOTB don’t have it because they keep the commandments of God (and the faith of Jesus). That is made very clear in Rev 14:12.
Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
The MOTB literally has to do with WORSHIP, breaking God’s Law, and bowing to the authority of the Beast/Antichrist Power.
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who WORSHIP the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
You don’t think that these below verses have any bearing on the MOTB issue? They all relate to obedience to God’s commandments, and one in particular.
Deut 6:8 Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
Exodus 13:9
It shall be a sign for you on your hand and a reminder on your forehead that the Law of the LORD is to be on your lips. For with a mighty hand the LORD brought you out of Egypt.
Exodus 13:16
So it shall serve as a sign on your hand and a symbol on your forehead, for with a mighty hand the LORD brought us out of Egypt.”
Deuteronomy 11:18
Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
2 Tim 2:19 Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
“To depart from iniquity is to keep God’s law. The disciples of God, those who know, and are known by God, and call on the name of Christ, are sealed with His law. The seal of God is in His law, so clearly this is a symbolic seal, not a literal one.”
The below article is cashed. No other way to copy and paste.
I think the references to keeping the scriptures attached to your forehead and hand in Deut. 6.8; 11.18-19 is a metaphor for your thoughts and actions. The passage from Revelation could easily be an allusion to these verses and meant to be taken the same way. Virtually every verse in Revelation is a reference to or allusion to something from the OT. My feet are not set in concrete on this interpretation (as with much of Revelation) but I certainly think it’s plausible.
