Wouldn’t he be more likely to get asylum if he converted to Islam?

The reasoning (on the part of the authorities who grant asylum) is: "Oh, he has converted to Christianity, so of course we can't send him back to his sh*thole Muslim country where they would persecute him because of his conversion!"

Side note: Most recent converts to Christianity don't then become suicide bombers. That's kinda a Muslim thing.
