Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, called for the resignation of German Cardinal Reinhard Marx Thursday for the latter’s public rejection of Catholic moral teaching.“Cardinal Marx has left the Catholic faith. He needs to be honest & officially resign,” wrote Bishop Strickland on his Twitter account, citing the cardinal’s pressure for a change in Church teaching on the immorality of gay sex.

It seems that Bishop Strickland is trying to do the right thing and call out error and evil within the Church, and he should do that. But he's spitting in the wind here. From the article, Bp. Marx tried to resign because he bungled the abuse scandal in Germany, but Francis rejected the resignation and
made him a papal counselor!!! I'm assuming that the pope wants to keep him around because he wants to promote Marx's left-wing views.
It's getting harder and harder to be a Catholic these days.

You’re right. I just get discouraged having to look at rainbow flags in front of the churches in my diocese. My bishop is almost a national figure for his advocacy of homosexual acceptance within the Church. And he brazenly spits in the faces of the faithful who question him. Francis will appoint many more like him before he is through, and he is packing the College of Cardinals with leftists who will elect more popes in his mold for a long time to come.
Fasting and prayer. I should step it up, and I will. I hope it helps. If not in my lifetime, then I hope it’s soon after.
