[Catholic Caucus] Archdiocese of Washington Cancels Youth Rally, Mass for Life Held at March for Life Events

According to the statement, the Youth Rally and Mass for Life had been held for over 25 years.

The Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., announced that its annual Youth Rally and Mass for Life, which both typically take place in conjunction with the national March for Life in Washington D.C., have been canceled.

“After a consultation process that involved dialogue with other dioceses, ministry leaders, and the partners who assist the archdiocese in hosting the annual rally and Mass, The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has decided not to move forward with hosting the larger multi-diocese rally,” a statement from the Archdiocese of Washington says.

The announcement comes about five months following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, the 1973 landmark case that legalized abortion nationwide. The annual March for Life, which is now in its 50th year, began in opposition to Roe.

Frankencardinal Gregory's puppeteers are Biden, Pelosi, and Bergoglio, all "good", "faithful" Catholics.

I think there are legitimate safety concerns. The venom of the pro-aborts along with the a likely non-response from D.C. police (probably due to a stand down order) means the march could be a target for violence. So I am not willing to condemn the diocese on this one.

Future marches need to take place in the several states. On the state capitals.

I cannot say anything good about Wilton Gregory.

So I won’t say anything.

Many States have had their own State March for Life for years. Agree that we need them in ALL States.

As for the National March for Life ... I’m going. Wouldn’t miss this for anything. It’s gonna be fun!

It’s going to be a huge party this year. I think that I heard they plan to focus on states after.

A huge party for us. The opposition will be out in force and probably more vulgar, profane, and obscene than ever. It’s gonna be a blast.

This is true.

I would not send my grandchildren to the March for this reason.

Too much potential for violence.

And I just realized that can’t go. I’m a senior level volunteer with another ministry and we have a previously scheduled meeting.

Bummer.

What a surprise. Maybe he’ll hold a Planned Parenthood fundraiser instead.

It’s for the “youth,” don’t you know...the “youth” that he would happily have had aborted.

Gregory went straight to top: Bergoglio, Biden and Pelosi.

And I just realized that can’t go.

Please remember to pray for those who can ... I expect it to be an "interesting time".

I agree with more local marches but there’s no reason to cancel the Catholic Youth Rally and Mass in D.C.

Biden has promised he would try to bypass the Supreme Court by getting Congress to legalize infanticide nationwide. What better place than D.C. to make the pro-life movement visible?

This cancelation is both purposeful and evil.

The March for Life is the single most powerful experience in development of Catholic faith for these students, especially urban black kids.

"The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington has decided not to move forward with hosting the larger multi-diocese rally,"

Might have to do with the investigation into the neighboring Baltimore Archdiocese, which has uncovered 600+ cases of child sex abuse.

Washington is it’s own archdiocese.

Baltimore is it’s own archdiocese.

Dioceses are subsets of their own, specific archdioceses.

I understand that. As indicated in the bolded “multi-diocese”, the Baltimore Archdiocese (as well as others) has participated in the Washington Archdiocese’s rallies prior.
