Impending Apocalypse: Where Religion and Science Meet
Israel Today ^ | 12/28/22 | Tsvi Sadan

Secular scientists are now predicting an “end times” that resembles that of the Bible. The only problem is they aren’t offering any hope.

Can it be that the hostility toward Christian, Jewish and Muslim belief in some kind of catastrophic end to the world as we know it is nothing more than an expression of prejudice? While it is true that almost all religious end-times predictions are mere speculation, the latest being the September 23 “prophecy,” that doesn’t mean belief in a doomsday is false. The very same is true of science’s repeated predictions of a “natural” doomsday. Though leading scientists have wrongly predicted impending global catastrophes of various kinds, their hastiness doesn’t mean that mass extinction for one reason or another is a false scenario altogether.

The three monotheistic religions have different versions of the End Times, but all revolve around a messianic figure. Jews and Christians believe that this divinely-empowered person will transform our planet by means of global war. This end-times war will trigger “natural” catastrophes like earthquakes, asteroids and deadly pandemics.

End Times Ping

FReemail me if you wish to be added to or removed from The End Times Ping List.

It’s not a coincidence that even secular sources are taking note of the times we’re living in.

Maranatha!

I was walking through the Walmart parking lot the other day listening to various people speaking and realized we as a human race are not going to make it. Our days were numbered from the beginning. I’m not even sure we are meant to be here at all. Maybe it was a fluke. An unlikely sequence of events.

I’m thinking another slice of that pecan pie won’t make much difference at this point. I just keep hoping there’s an afterlife where my people and dogs can all be together forever.

Religions pit other religions against each other. Politicians, the media, the entertainment industry, the rich, the elitists, everyone is pitting each other against someone else. This has been going on since Cain killed Able. Perhaps we are nothing more than an experiment to some super advanced species or God just to see how we end up.

I used to think the answer is exploration to other habitable planets but in a very real way humans are like a virus consuming and destroying as we multiply. I know it isn’t a very Christian way of looking at it but look at the facts on the ground. This is exactly what we do as a species and we never stop multiplying and taking over more and more of the earth’s surface.

Way back in the old days here in the Americas indigenous people weren’t so destructive of the land but they were still cruel to each other (other tribes). It was this way throughout history in every single place humans lived. Even those very few places where primitive tribes live without contact with modern man, they kill outsiders. Yep, our days are numbered. We just don’t know the number yet.

In the prophecies of Gad The Seer, he relates a dream God sent which featured a wagon representing Israel, being pulled toward Jerusalem by a donkey and a camel. The Camel has a crescent Moon on it’s side and the donkey has a “T” on its side. The donkey represents seven hills and the Camel represents ... well one can guess the meanings. Chrislam is coming.

I don't know if the following will help you to get a 'different' perspective but here goes:

When God created mankind He gave us a behavior mechanism of mind, wiolol, and emotion, just like the animals have only a bit more advanced. This behavior mechanism has to have a source of life to function (nobody sins after they die). The first human, Adam, had a spirit source of life, so his soul/behavior mechanism did not sin as fabricated. BUT God also gave man a free to choose will in his soul/behavior mechanism, so when Eve rebelled against God's command Adam was faced with a choice, to reject Eve or join her in a sate of rebellion. Adam chose to be with Eve and the life ibn his spirit departed, so that the only source of life for his soul was that of the flesh desires. Adam died that day, spiritually. and he passed thwt characteristic of a dead soul -alive in the carnal sense only- onto all descended from him.

We are born with a body, a soul/behavior mechanism, and a spirit, a spirit that is not alive spiritually so it cannot give lief to the soul. BUT GOD has made provision to renew the life to the spirit, in Christ and what He accomplished on the cross. While bod yet lives it is drawing carnal life from the flesh for the soul. (No one sins after thay die) When one is born again, God separated the soul and sp[irit so thaty He puts His spirit life into the spirit, but separate fromt he soul so the soul still accomplishes sin. (See Heb 4:12, for separation of soul and spirit).

Someday God has Promised to give the born agains a new glorified body and soul, for the spirit wherein He abides (See John 3:9) to live forever more, sinless. Honestly, I am awaiting that day, groaning in anticipation.

By ending a global war, perhaps. Not by starting one.

Even if we could colonize other planets we can’t escape the main source of our problems, which is ourselves. We’re the one thing we can’t run away from.

And if god did not create mankind then what is the reason for the state of humanity as described by the author..???

A deep thought! As a student of the Bible fore a few decades, I would observe that the changes in humanity and societies have been prophesied well in advance of the occurrences. AND ... the very nature of DNA, the most sophisticated information carrier that doubles as manufacture driver shouts ‘Designer’. AND ... in her book, Warped Passages, Lisa Randall illustrates the growth of crystals that assemble due to spacetime variables we can as yet not sense or measure.

Acts 2:16-18
King James Version

16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel;

17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:

18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy:

We are seeing this stage being set. It will be like no other event in history. There will be wars and rumors of war. It will in fact be far worse than when Rome destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD. In fact it will become so bad in those days that Jesus Himself stated the following...

Matthew 24:21-22
King James Version

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.

But we have a better Promise, indeed a better Covenent!

Some dare call it escapism, But God calls it a reward...
And that day cometh soon, so as a Thief in the night...

1 Corinthians 15:51-57
King James Version

51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

---->(No one sins after thay die) When one is born again, God separated the soul and sp[irit so thaty He puts His spirit life into the spirit, but separate fromt he soul so the soul still accomplishes sin. (See Heb 4:12, for separation of soul and spirit).

ABSOLUTE GIBBERISH! No matter how you spew your garbage, Sin is the transgression of God's law. And all who commit willful and unrepentant sin, INCLUDING born again Christians, will never enter heaven. God does not make us robots at the moment of Grace. We are responsible for our actions/sin. God will not tolerate willful and unrepentant LAWLESSNESS. Hebrews 4:12 has absolutely nothing to do with the "spirit" preventing the wages of willful and unrepentant sin. All those years of study and listening to your false teachers, and you still don't get it.

Hewbrews 4:12 Soul and spirit. Gr. psuchē kai pneuma, here, “life and breath.” On psuchē see on Matt. 10:28, and on pneuma see on Luke 8:55. This and the expression “joints and marrow” are used figuratively. The idea of dividing between “soul and spirit” and between “joints and marrow” describes the sharpness of God’s “word.” The value of the figure is based on the idea that “life” and “breath” are, for practical purposes at least, inseparable. SDA Bible Commentary

Matthew 10:28 Soul. Gr. psuchē, “breath,” “life,” or “soul.” Psuchē (plural, psuchai) is translated 40 times in the NT as “life” or “lives,” clearly with the meaning commonly attributed to the word “life” (see chs. 2:20; 6:25; 16:25; etc.). It is rendered 58 times as “soul” or “souls” (see chs. 10:28; 11:29; 12:18; etc.). In some of these instances it means simply “people” (see Acts 7:14; 27:37; 1 Peter 3:20; etc.). In other instances it is translated as, or equivalent to, some personal pronoun (see Matt. 12:18; 2 Cor. 12:15; see on Ps. 16:10). At times it refers to the emotions (see Mark 14:34; Luke 2:35; etc.), to the natural appetites (see Rev. 18:14), to the mind (see Acts 14:2; Phil. 1:27), or to the heart (see Eph. 6:6). There is nothing in the word psuchē itself that even remotely implies a conscious entity that is able to survive the death of the body and hence be immortal. In no instance of its use in the Bible does psuchē refer to a conscious entity able to exist apart from the body. The Bible knows nothing of a living, conscious soul that, supposedly, survives the body. For the Heb. nephesh, the Hebrew equivalent of the Gr. puschē, see on 1 Kings 17:21; Ps. 16:10. All that is said of one word applies to the other. SDA Bible Commentary

Luke 8:55 55. Spirit. Gr. pneuma, ―wind,‖ ―breath,‖ or ―spirit,‖ from pneō, ―to blow,‖ or ―to breathe.‖ Any extension of the word to designate beings possessed of intelligence is a figure of speech known as synechdoche, by which a thing is referred to by naming one of its parts, usually that part which is most characteristic of it. There is nothing inherent in the word pneuma by which it may be taken to mean some supposed conscious entity of man capable of existing apart from the body, nor does the usage of the word with respect to man in the NT in any way imply such a concept. This concept is based exclusively on the preconceived opinions of those who, a priori, believe that a conscious entity survives the body at death, and who read this preconceived opinion into such words as ―spirit‖ and ―soul.‖ For the OT equivalent of pneuma, the Heb. ruach, see on Num. 5:14 SDA Bible Commentary

It’s more simple than that.

The excess of verbiage leads to the Wide Path to eternal existence.

Take the narrow path.

I wonder how little Phil is going to worm his way out of his own sin (his hourly sin) before God?

Behavior doesn’t do squat for anybody.

Sorry lawbreaker. You don’t recognize God’s AUTHORITY in His law. That alone rules you out of the kingdom of heaven. God’s REMNANT keep the commandments of God as mandatory and binding. You don’t believe that. Ravi didn’t believe that either. And by rejecting God’s AUTHORITY in His law, you also reject the New Covenant.

...”Behavior doesn’t do squat for anybody”

It does for anyone under the New Covenant. It changes the BEHAVIOR in your heart and then out of love for Christ, to keep His commandments, proving that you are in fact Christ’s own, and worthy of eternal life with Him. But again, that’s not you. OSAS means sin can’t touch you. You are not under God’s AUTHORITY.

...”I see the disease is back. 🦟”

You foul mouth blabber will come to an end soon enough.

Rev 12:17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Hebrews 10:16This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;
