It would seem that Benedict did not trust that God, who parted the Red Sea, could prevail against this evil attack on His Church.
I don’t pretend to have all pertinent information but it seems that the Holy Father went out for a pack of cigarettes and never came back, leaving his children to the abuses of a degenerate step-father.
Benedict was in his mid-80s when he resigned. Give the guy a break. He also never wanted the job because he saw what the demonic forces could do a righteous Pope like JPII who was a vigorous man to begin with. Benedict knew his physical limitations and preferred to live a contemplative life in his later years.
You have no idea why Benedict resigned but you equate his resignation with a father going “out for a pack of cigarettes and never (coming) back, leaving his children to the abuses of a degenerate step-father”.
I don’t feel well today and, thankfully, I caught myself before posting a now-deleted comment.
May you never suffer through being judged so harshly as you’ve judged Pope Benedict.
