The word of God will work for anyone that will put it to work, but . . .

This is off the mark and heretical, as stated! God’s Word is not a magic talisman that “works” for us. It is God’s revelation to us that is intended to reveal the Gospel, which is His provision, through the provision of Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection, to redeem His creation from evil.

According to 2 Timothy 3:16, Scripture is also provided by God as a roadmap to lay out the path to righteousness for those who have embraced the salvation offered by the Gospel.

Thirdly, it is intended that we meet with God in Scripture (by reading it, devotionally), as he reveals Himself to us so that we can commune with Him just like He communed with Adam and Eve in the garden.
