You both are in my prayers. With me, the second round is when I started to get side effects. They were what I was advised was typical: Nausea (pills help as well as hydration), low iron (shots helped), diarrhea (typical), hair loss (I just crew cut it as it began and had a hat handy) all items that could be dealt with as temporary. Long car drives became tough as when bathrooms were needed they were needed instantly.
Just remember strong side effects indicate it is hitting the cancer hard so don’t despair. Have audio books, kindle books, hobby items and things to distract from the waiting during hydration and laying around waiting for the intestinal issues to subside. Gastric cancer is a zone where we have had great advances in Chemo.

Hang in there and fight. My Mother-in-law had Non-Hodgekins Lymphoma.
One chemo treatment and she gave up.
