I agree with much of what you say.

But I suggest the greatest currency isn't money, but power.

And, ultimately, the government has the power. Then, of course, the ones who have the most direct control over the government (via the government's purse strings) are politicians.

Large corporations have an enormous of power, but their power is nothing compared to that of the government.

Money buys power. Corporations can afford to, and do buy whole Governments and Countries. It is not the politicians who are benefiting from our National debt. Follow the debt chain up the ladder. The power is in the hands of those who buy the elections and put these politicians in office. Those like Gates, Soros, and Zuckerberg. And even they are just Sargents in the chain of command.
